After the stadium we checked into our hotel and then had to get dressed up and go to a Flamenco show. I had never seen flamenco before and it was very interesting, there was a lot of stomping going on and I can't imagine any of the dancers have good knees. It was very technical and there was a live band playing which interacted a lot with the dancers. It was a wonderful performance!
The next day we really got to see Barcelona. The first thing we saw was the Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona. It was started much more recently than any of the other churches we've been too and is still under construction. It is scheduled to be finished in 2026 and is much more modern than any of the other well-known landmarks. It was very tall and the front facade was extremely detailed. After that we went to Gaudi Park and got to sit on a long, ceramic bench from which we could see the Mediterranean Sea and the city! It was a great place to sit and there were palm trees everywhere, it was really beautiful there.
Later we went back to the main area of the city and went in the Barcelona Cathedral. It was very interesting, there is even a courtyard with geese and fountains you can drink from (which is what I am doing in one of the pictures). You can go inside, too, and it looks more like a normal cathedral, no geese in there! The last part of our day was the beach. The water was very cold and no one attempted to swim so we all just sat on the beach and relaxed. We crammed a lot of different things in every day or we were always on the bus so just sitting and relaxing together didn't really happen very often. It was a wonderful way to end our time in Barcelona.
Goodnight from Poland,
